I have the honour to refer to your savingram No.1286 of 30th December, 1948, approving the grant by private treaty of an area of land measuring 6,700 square feet at Shan Kwong Road to the Tung Lin Kok Yuen Temple Po Kok Free School for the purpose of providing a school playground. The school authorities are anxious to increase the accommodation of the school which is at present inadequate, and have asked for the grant of a further plot measuring 6,400 square feet on which suitable buildings can be erected. This area is adjacent to that for the grant of which you have already given approval. I recommend that this application be approved and that the whole area be granted as one lot on the terms and conditions attached. The school authorities are confident that they will be able to raise $100,000 to be expended within the period of the building covenant.
